SpotGoTo Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Account and profile data: email address, encrypted authentication credentials handled by our authentication provider, user identifier, display name, profile image, preferred language, and profile location you choose to provide.

Location and search data: with device permission, the app may process precise or approximate device location to show nearby places. We also process locations, addresses, postal codes, search terms, and map interactions that you submit. You can withdraw device location permission in operating-system settings.

Saved places and activity: favorites, visited and want-to-go places, private places, personal categories, shared places, party planning, votes, reservations, orders, and related preferences.

Communications and content: messages, uploaded images, business profiles, menus, promotions, reports, claims, customer requests, translations, and other content you submit. Camera access is used only after permission for QR scanning or user-requested photo capture.

Device and service data: app version, device/platform information, push notification token, security and audit events, crash or diagnostic information made available by service providers, and local app storage. We do not use advertising trackers in the current release.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to provide authentication, saved places, maps and search, sharing, messaging, party planning, business pages, reservations/orders, notifications, translation, customer support, moderation, fraud and security prevention, legal compliance, and Service improvement. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

3. When We Disclose Information

We disclose information to service providers that help operate the Service, including Supabase for authentication, database, storage, and realtime functions; Google Maps and Places and Apple Maps for location and place features; and Expo for app delivery and push-notification infrastructure. Their processing is governed by their terms and privacy notices. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the Service, in a business transfer, or with your direction or consent.

Public business pages, menus, promotions, reviews, or content intentionally shared by a user may be visible to others. Private saved places and personal categories are intended to be visible only to the account owner except when the owner affirmatively shares them.

4. Retention and Deletion

We retain information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes above. Account and profile data generally remain while the account is active. User content and communications remain until deleted, the account is deleted, or they are no longer needed, subject to backups and legal, fraud-prevention, dispute, transaction, tax, and security obligations. Backups are overwritten on their normal cycle. See the Account and Data Deletion Policy for request methods and exceptions.

5. Security and User Controls

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including authenticated access and database row-level security. No system is completely secure. You may control device permissions, notifications, profile data, saved items, sharing choices, and account deletion through the app and device settings.

6. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability, or restriction of personal information, and appeal a denied request. Send requests to support@spotgoto.com. We may verify identity before acting. We will not discriminate for exercising applicable rights.

7. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If you believe a child provided information, contact support@spotgoto.com so we can investigate and delete it.

8. International Processing and Changes

Information may be processed in the United States and other locations where providers operate, subject to appropriate safeguards required by applicable law. We may update this policy and will post the new effective date and provide additional notice when legally required.
